Tracy has been a MAKER since she was a young girl doing the family mending with her mom at the kitchen table.  She took Clothing and Textiles in high school and made many garments including pants, tops and a bathing suit.  She sewed her own wedding dress and her mom’s outfit for her wedding.  She loved sewing clothes for her four daughters and completed a small hand quilted baby quilt for each daughter on a small wooden quilting frame made by her husband Murray.  Fast forward to 2013 where she started her own longarm business and online quilt shop and JUMPED into QUILTING full time.

Tracy loves all things QUILTY and the use of bright vibrant color.  In balance, she also loves the timeless look of black and white neutrals.  She started following Tula Pink very early in her modern quilting adventure and features her fabrics in many of her projects.  Tracy used online learning during COVID to build a community of MAKERS which supported each other.  Purple KATZ Quilting hosts four retreats a year at the beautiful Sunnyside Christian Retreat Center in Sylvan Lake.    Tracy continues to add to her quilting portfolio and is a Certified Instructor for the Laura Heine Collage technique, curve piecing by Sew Kind of Wonderful, an instructor for Quiltsmart products.  She loves bag making and loves foundation paper piecing.  Tracy’s favorite part of quilting is meeting people and sharing ideas and has started teaching for shops and quilt guilds and retreats.  Purple KATZ Quilting attends quilt shows and hosts trunk shows and pop shops.

One size doesn’t fit all -  and in this class you will learn  how to size your garment to your unique body shape.

We will be using the Tamarack Jacket pattern by Grainline Studios and   
preparation for class will be supported with videos and handouts - more details to come after registration .
