Wendy's FQ Placemat Technique

Our friend Wendy (The Quilted Pickle) shows us her TECHNIQUE To make a set of 6 quilted placemat using FQ's 

You can choose 6 FQ for the top and a 45" piece of fabric for the backing.  

We have some really pretty KITS in the SHOP  which makes it quick and easy to get started.  

Materials Required:

  • 6 FQ for the top
  • 45" of fabric for the backing
  • 45" batting  (your choice of By Annie/s Soft and Stable foam,  Fusible Thermolam Fleece or quilt batting)  I lone Fusible Thermoloam Fleece
  • A pretty thread to topstitch with some embroidery or pretty thread embellishment.

Pattern Weight Technique using a sewing machine and poly pellets

We had so much fun last weekend making this cute project with small pieces of fabric and poly pellets.  They can be completed made with your sewing machine.   Pattern weights were traditionally used in garment making but are used today for bag makers holding their patterns onto vinyl and leather when they can't use pins.
