PURR-FECT PATCHWORK BLOG TOUR - Purr-fect Patchwork Tote

Posted by Tracy Loyek on

Cat-loving quilters mew-nitešŸ’œ Ā this new book by Pamela Jane Morgan for C&T Publishing contains 16 feline fabric & craft original cat-themed quilts & textile projects for Modern CAT people!Ā  I have always had a special place in my heart for cats/katz and sewing, Ā so this project book was a definite yes on my sewing list! I’m SEW excited to share my adventures with the NEW fabulous book:Ā Purr-fect Patchwork by Pamela Jane Morgan. We have it available in our shop and online website.Ā  Ā Ā

I chose to feature the Purr-fect Patchwork Tote because I love bag making and this one features the cutest little cat peeking out of a pocket. Grab a pair of old denim jeans and let’s get sewing - it’s the purr-fect recycling project. Ā  Thanks to some very special people in my life, Ā Jocelyn & Stan, for donating a used pair of jeans for this projectĀ

The pattern book calls for felt pieces which add beautiful texture to the project but I couldn’t resist using some purple sparkle vinyl for my cat/katz personality. Ā

I love the shape and structure of this bag. Ā The foundation is ByAnnie’s Soft and Stable. Ā This was a quick project with many opportunities to personalize it. Ā  Clear instructions and lots of pictures make it easy to follow and this is a great ā€œfirst bagā€. Ā

Ā The bag calls for a magnet and zipper and I always use bag hardware from Emmaline Bags because of its quality and beautiful appearance. Ā This picture showcases their iridescent zippers and pulls - my favorite. Ā Ā

There are so many fabulous projects in this book. My friend Wendy and I made the Stabby Tabby pincushion at retreat from recycled jars and I just had to make the Hiss and Makeup Bag for my little wonder clips.Ā

  • Love the Cat in the Pocket on the bag…. fun idea and colors you worked with.
I am thinking I have a piece of fleece that would make a great kitty on this project.
